Why Notara Exists
When something serious happens — harassment at work, a threatening encounter, an ongoing pattern of abuse — the most powerful thing you can do is document it clearly and consistently. But most tools for doing that are either impractical or unsafe: notes apps with no structure, cloud journals that share your data, or paper records that can be lost or taken.
Notara was built to fill that gap. A structured, private log that lives entirely on your device. You decide what goes in, when to export it, and who ever sees it. No company can access it. No breach can expose it unless you choose to share it.
This is a tool for clarity, dignity, and control. Not legal advice, not a substitute for professional help — just a reliable place to record what happened, when it happened, and what you saw.

Structured Incident Entries
Document each incident with a title, narrative, category, date and time, optional tags, and witness details. Every entry is clear and retrievable when you need it.

What Notara Doesn't Do
Built around what it will never do to your data.
No Cloud Sync
There is no Notara account and no cloud sync built into the app. Your entries never travel to our servers.
No Analytics or Tracking
Notara does not include analytics or advertising. Location is used only when you attach it to a specific entry.
No Account Required
There are no Notara logins. Open the app and start documenting — no sign-up, no email, no password sent to us.
No Remote Access
We cannot retrieve data from your device. We do not host your data. We cannot recover lost passcodes or passwords.
No Forced Cloud
There is no Notara cloud tier, no premium sync, and no pressure to upload. Your records stay offline by design.
No Legal or Professional Advice
Notara is a documentation tool. It does not replace legal advice, law enforcement, crisis services, or medical care.
The Privacy Promise
Incident documentation is some of the most sensitive data a person can hold. It reveals patterns of harm, identifies people involved, and can carry real consequences. It belongs entirely to you.
