How do I get started with Zende?

Simply download the app and start exploring. There's no account creation or setup required. Choose from 8 wellness categories and begin with any exercise that resonates with you.

Can I use Zende offline?

Absolutely. Zende is designed to work completely offline. All exercises, journaling, and gratitude entries are stored locally on your device, so you can practice mindfulness anywhere.

How do breathing exercises work?

Select a breathing exercise from the Calm category. Follow the on-screen instructions with visual guidance and haptic feedback to help you maintain the rhythm. Each exercise includes detailed breathing patterns and estimated completion times.

Can I save my favorite exercises?

Yes! Tap the bookmark icon on any exercise to save it to your Favorites. Access all your saved exercises quickly from the Saved tab for easy daily practice.

How do I set up daily reminders?

Go to Settings and enable notifications. You can customize the reminder time using the time picker. All reminders are local to your device—no server required.

Can I export my journal and gratitude entries?

Yes! Go to Settings > Data & Privacy > Export Data. You can export all your personal data as a JSON file for backup or to share with healthcare providers if needed.

Are the exercises evidence-based?

Yes. All exercises include citations to their origins, including MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction), CBT principles, Dr. Andrew Weil's breathing techniques, and yoga traditions.

How do I delete my data?

Go to Settings > Data & Privacy > Delete All Data. This permanently removes all your personal entries while keeping the exercise content. There's no cloud backup, so deletion is permanent.

Troubleshooting

App won't open

Try restarting your device. If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall the app. Your data is stored locally, so export it first if you want to preserve it.

Haptic feedback not working

Check your device's haptic settings in System Settings. Some breathing exercises use haptic feedback for rhythm guidance, but this requires device haptics to be enabled.

Notifications not appearing

Go to your device settings and ensure Zende has notification permissions. Also check that Do Not Disturb mode is off.

Data seems to be missing

Check if you're on the same device where you created the data. The app stores data locally, so it won't sync across devices. If you've recently updated the app, try restarting it.

Can't find saved exercises

Check the Saved tab at the bottom of the app. If you don't see your bookmarks, make sure you tapped the bookmark icon on the exercises you wanted to save.
